Teaching Week 2

Urgh, I am exhausted so here is a very quick idea of how my lesson have gone so far this week!

Tuesday: Lesson went really well! Writing activities went ok and my differentiation seemed to work well. Kids loved Madness' 'Baggy Trousers' video- especially the flying saxophonist... Oh and the fly swat game (running and swatting a word I say) went very well! They shredded my signs though, plus someone ran into a tree and another girl almost broke her hand... Successful lesson I'd say!

Wednesday: MY FAVOURITE SCHOOL! Kids were LOVELY, so lively! I had a new kid called Rain because one of the girls is 'very ill', I asked what was wrong and was told she had a cold. If having a cold is classed as being 'very ill', I am worried! The kids were really good! I had a lot of fun with them and they loved the fly swat game too!

Today (Thursday): Hmmmm well it could have gone worse! I was expecting the same class that I had last week but was met by a whole new class! So naturally I planned to do my lesson plan from last week but then the class from last week came in! So I was expected to teach my lessons 1 and 2 simultaneously... Not going to happen! I have now determined that I am having a new class each week (until that changes without me knowing... CHINA!). Lesson went well, I used aspects from lesson one and two but was a bit screwed when the projector died. Oh and I broke THREE vases! I knocked one over and it knocked into a second and that knocked into a third. All of them broke... Oh and this was in front of EIGHT English teachers! The kids didn't even crack a smile though... definitely not in England anymore! OH I must mention that in this class there was a Grease, a Mickey Mouse and a Angle (checked it wasn't angel... it wasn't, how obtuse.) Only in China eh?
