Xi'an You're The Man! Day 3

Now the plan was to get up early and continue exploring Xi'an but that didn't quite happen. I woke up still tired from the day before but still managed to get out by 830. Today I was going to tour Xi'an's city wall.

I paid my money and entered a court yard full of old fashioned drums. Then I climbed the steps to the parapet!

Now originally I planned to get the golf cart tour around the wall but there was a big wait, so after umming and arring I decided to hire a bicycle! The wall was 9 miles long and by this point the heat was mid thirties, this was going to be fun!

Now the first three quarters was fine, quite fun actually! I was enjoying myself and thank goodness the wall is basically flat! However the last quarter was rather demanding but with a final push I made it, by this time I was looking less than my best...

I made it though! I cycled all the way around the wall in only an hour! I was very proud of myself!!

However now I was a sweaty mess, with sore legs and tired so back to the hostel for a cold shower and a lie down to recuperate. I would like to say that I did something else that day but I would be lying. I was tired and the idea of wandering around Xi'an with all my bags wasn't very appealing. So I sat and I blogged and I had a SANDWICH!

Soon it was time to head to the airport bus. I got on and settled down, I made it to the airport (and got off at the right terminal!) and checked in. I then settled down to wait the hour I had until I flew. I watched an episode of Supernatural and then was told that my flight had been delayed due to 'Flux control', now what is that?? Sounds like something from Doctor Who... Either way my flight was delayed 2 hours YAY...

All the while Will was ringing me because the head teacher from Jiazhouxuang was taking us out for dinner and wanted to know when I'd be back. So much for nothing happening while I went away! I missed Xiguanjie and Beidajie's performances and now a meal to thank me for my work. Matthew's words were 'There is nothing planned for this weekend'. Which obviously means the opposite...

I didn't get to Xining airport until 9pm and I didn't get home until 1030pm. LONG DAY! Luckily no school in the morning!!
