And so the goodbyes begin...

Sunday

Cecilia and I decided that we wanted to stay home that day; we wanted to rest and just generally chill out. We decided that a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon! Yay! It was glorious! Well until the power went out, naturally this was just as the epic fight scene began... However about 40 minutes later, just as we were about to go to town, it came back on! Whoop!

To say it was a lazy day would be an understatement! It was nice!

Monday

I went to the office bright and early (about 9am) to ask some questions about pay and to ask them to sort out a few things. I came into the office and met with Kelly and Michael Li. They answered some of my questions and I helped them check their English.

Soon we were joined by Cecilia and the office staff took us out for lunch which was nice! Cecilia and I then went and did some shopping before heading home.

Tuesday

Back to school! This week's afternoon lessons will be on films! I will be showing clips from Mr Bean, Mouse trap, ET, Up and the Wizard of Oz and asking them questions about them. The morning went really well and lunch was tasty!

I got told in the afternoon that today was my last lesson with these kids! BU HAO! I can't believe they didn't tell me until half way through my lesson!! NOT FAIR. The lesson went really well! The kids loved the clips and when they had to create their own films the results were amazing! Jack the boy who is in love with Lady Gaga, wrote an idea for a film where he meets her and they go to Egypt. There was a story about the animals in the Chinese Zodiac, there was a story about a princess and a story about aliens! The results were great!!

For the last hour, we took lots of photos and then I signed a whole lot of autographs! I felt like a superstar once more! One of my kids cried which was upsetting; I am going to miss them so much! Next week I am only working the morning so we are all going out for lunch which should be nice!

Wednesday

Apparently I am not working this afternoon, this SUCKS. Two weeks without my favourite class, BU HAO. My morning went well and I was invited to the computer teacher's house for lunch which was nice. Her son is 16 (or maybe older) but his room is creepy. It has toddler style curtains and a massive photo portrait of him as a baby on his wall. He has kids' toys and a terrifyingly large air gun collection. It was just creepy. Lunch was delicious, despite the fact that one of my kids as THE WORST TABLE MANNERS I HAVE EVER SEEN. It was disgusting.

We headed back to school and Erin told me that she thought last time was my last time seeing my afternoon class. I very nearly cried... Not cool China, not cool. I am hoping I see them next week but I doubt it.

I then headed to the office for a further meeting, Will and Deena weren't happy with the result from the last one. They think Matthew won't pay us. Mike, Cecilia and I aren't worried because we are well liked however I know that Deena and Will aren't viewed in the same light as us after the 'Soho incident'. I talked to Kelly and Michael Li about it and I hope we will have this all sorted out soon! I also began planning our thank you meal for the office staff and the programme staff.  OH AND WE FOUND OUT FISH IS COMING BACK ON MONDAY!! SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED.

Mike turned up eventually and we headed home.

Thursday

Back to Jiaoxiaozhuang (or however it is spelt) and today it was raining hard... Oh and EVERYONE ELSE HAD THE DAY OFF.

I arrived to meet Charity and we walked to the school stopping on the way so we could have ridiculously posed photos such as one of us shaking hands and one of us waving at each other. It was for a digital memory book they were making or something. This school is a marketing machine and I hate it...

I arrived at school eventually and headed to my first class. This morning I had grade 5 and I did my verbal lesson from last week. It was probably a bit too complex for one of the classes but the other class it worked perfectly! Oh and they loved Singin' in the Rain!

Lunch was unimpressive but I spent the time talking to their teachers about their spoken English. It was interesting hearing their perspective and discussing the difference between Michael, Will and my spoken English.

My afternoon lesson went pretty well for a Thursday. The kids enjoyed themselves.

Friday

Grade 1 classes all morning. I dislike grade 1. Who thought classes of 70 six year olds were a good idea?! I pulled out my bag of tricks (boomshboom, llama song, head shoulders knees and toes) and still struggled to keep them interested. It was bloody hard work...

My afternoon class went really well; again they were captivated by Singin' in the rain and the other movie clips. It was a really great lesson!
